The College 60th Anniversary Scholarship Presentation Ceremony was held on 21 March 2017 at 5:30 pm in the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees was the officiating guest. Also gracing the Ceremony were various scholarship donors and trustees of the College. Around 500 guests, including the award recipients, their parents, alumni, secondary school principals of the award recipients and members of the College were present. Tea reception and dinner were hosted by the College after the Ceremony for the award recipients, their parents and the donors respectively.

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the College, the College Alumni Association and the College Staff Association have jointly organised a banquet on 10 December 2016 at Conrad Hong Kong. The Organising Committee used「桃李滿聯合、春風一甲子」as the theme of the 60th anniversary banquet, intending to bring together members of the College and their friends to march forward with the College. Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Secretary for Administration, HKSAR, was the Honorary Patron of the event. Also gracing the occasion were Dr Norman N P Leung, Chairman of the Council of CUHK; Professor Joseph J Y Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees and Chairman of the College 60th Anniversary Celebration Steering Committee; Ms Lina H Y Yan, Chairperson of the College 60th Anniversary Banquet Organising Committee; and Professor Jimmy C M Yu, Head of United College. Former Vice-Chancellor of CUHK Professor Lawrence Lau; former Heads of United College including Professor Lee Cheuk-yu, Professor Wong Kwan-yiu, Professor Fung Kwok-pui; and around 480 people including trustees of the College, officers of the University, alumni and friends of the College attended the joyful event. Participants enjoyed the slideshow that brought memorable moments of the College’s history over the past 60 years. Masters of traditional art were also invited to perform on this special occasion. All guests enjoyed a grand night of joyous wining, dining and dancing.

The 2015-2016 Graduation Ceremony of United College was held on 17 November 2016. Dr Luk Che-chung (86/MED), Cluster Chief Executive, Hong Kong West Cluster, Hospital Authority and Ms Lina H Y Yan, MH, JP (69/ENG), Vice-Chairperson of the College Board of Trustees, Chairperson of the Endowment Fund Committee and President of the College Alumni Association were the officiating speakers of the Ceremony. The College also took this memorable occasion to present the honorable “United College Xin Min Scholarship” to Mr Ng Chung-yuen (16/RMSC). “United College Xin Min Scholarship” was established to honour a UC student who performed the best services for the College and the community throughout his/her University study while at the same time demonstrating a capability for sustainable academic advancement. The recipient will additionally be honoured with a permanent record of his/her accomplishments to be kept in the College archives. A Tree Planting Ceremony and group photo-taking session for UC Graduates were held after the Ceremony on the College campus. Over 1,700 guests, graduates and their parents attended the College graduation activities on that day.

The United College 60th Anniversary Activities Kick-off Ceremony was successfully held on 30 November 2015 at 8:30 am at the University Gallery. The Ceremony was officiated by Professor Joseph J Y Sung, Vice-Chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong; Dr Thomas H C Cheung, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees; Ms Lina H Y Yan, Vice-Chairperson of the College Board of Trustees and President of the UC Alumni Association; Professor Jimmy C M Yu, College Head; Ms Michelle Wong, President of the College Student Union; Mr Edwin Chung, Chairman of the College Student Union Council. The College invited Professor Sung, Dr Cheung and Professor Yu to deliver speeches at the Ceremony. More than a hundred and thirty trustees, donors, staff, alumni and students attended to witness this exciting event.
